Privacy policy: your baby's story stays yours
How Amelia, its App Clip and this website handle your information. Written in plain words, because you have enough to read already.
Effective November 6, 2026. Replaces the version of November 4, 2026.
In short
- Your logs, plans and documents stay on your iPhone and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud. We have no servers that hold them and we can't read them.
- Amelia's tips and recaps are written on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to an AI service.
- No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, nothing sold. Amelia counts which features get used, anonymously, and you can turn that off.
- Purchases go through Apple. RevenueCat only checks whether you have Amelia Plus.
- This website has no cookies and no analytics. The free tools run in your browser and keep your answers there.

Who we are
Amelia is made by João Reis, an independent developer in Portugal ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the limited data described here. This policy covers the Amelia app for iPhone with its widgets, Live Activities, Share extension and Siri Shortcuts; the Amelia App Clip; and this website, appamelia.party.
What you put into Amelia
You can record your baby's name, birth date, sleep, feeds, diapers, health notes such as temperature or medicine, growth, play and journal entries. In pregnancy mode you can add your due date, kick counts, timed contractions and how they felt, your birth plan, checklists, and vitamins or medicine reminders. You can also keep documents in Amelia, such as scan reports or prescriptions, as PDFs.
All of this is stored in Amelia's own storage on your iPhone, shared only with Amelia's widgets, App Clip and Share extension on the same device. We have no servers that hold it, and we cannot read it.
- Camera: used only when you choose to scan a document. The pages become a PDF on your iPhone.
- Share extension: when you share a PDF to Amelia from another app, a copy is saved in Amelia's storage on your iPhone.
- Country for care: Amelia reads your iPhone's region setting to choose local conventions, like how the due date is counted and the usual scan dates. It's saved with each baby and you can change it in Settings. It isn't your location: Amelia never uses GPS.
- Notifications: nap, feed and medicine reminders and Amelia's gentle nudges are scheduled on your iPhone, not sent from a server.
- Calls: the call buttons in Contraction Care open your phone app. Amelia doesn't record the call.
iCloud sync and partner sharing
If you turn on "Sync with iCloud", your logs, plans and documents are stored in your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so they reach your other devices. If you invite a partner or caregiver, the information for that baby is shared with the people you invite through iCloud sharing, and they can see and add to it. You can stop sharing or turn sync off at any time in Settings.
This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. We don't have access to it.
Amelia's tips and recaps
Tips and daily recaps are generated on your iPhone using Apple's on-device Foundation Models, on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence. Your logs are not sent to us or to any AI service.
Purchases
Amelia Plus is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or payment details.
We use RevenueCat to confirm whether you have an active Amelia Plus subscription or lifetime purchase. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, your App Store purchase history for Amelia, and technical details such as device model, iOS version, country and language. It doesn't receive your logs, your baby's details, your name or your email.
Anonymous usage stats
To learn which features help, Amelia sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, stored on its servers in the EU. An event says something like "a feed was logged", "a sound was started", "the app was opened" or "the paywall was shown". It comes with the app version, iOS version, device model, language and a random ID created on your iPhone. That ID isn't tied to your name, email, Apple Account or iCloud. We don't create profiles of people, and we never combine these stats with other data.
A few events include a small detail about how a feature was used, so we can tell whether it's working:
- in Contraction Care, which kind of number you tapped to call (your maternity unit, a health line or emergency services), never the number itself;
- the country set for care (for example "FR"), when you open your key dates or add local list items;
- things like which sound was played, which list was changed, or how many steps of the birth plan you've done.
Events never include your baby's name, birth date or due date, your notes, measurements, documents or your actual logs. Contraction Care events say only that a contraction was timed, a pain rating was given or a prompt appeared, never the rating itself or which prompt it was. Like any connection, sending an event reveals your IP address to PostHog, which may use it to estimate a rough location such as the country; we don't use it to identify you. If the app crashes, a crash report with technical details may also be sent.
You can turn this off at any time in Amelia's Settings, under Privacy, with "Share anonymous usage stats".
The App Clip
The QR code on an Amelia birth plan opens Contraction Care as an App Clip, without installing the app. Contractions you time there are stored on your iPhone. If you then install Amelia, they're waiting for you in the app; if you don't, iOS removes the App Clip and its data after a period of not using it.
The App Clip sends the same kind of anonymous usage stats as the app (for example "the App Clip was opened" or "the App Store banner was shown"). It has no settings screen, so to turn the stats off, install Amelia and switch them off there, or simply stop using the App Clip.
The QR codes on Amelia's PDFs are plain links to the App Clip or the App Store. They contain no information about you or your plan.
This website
appamelia.party uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The free tools, like the due date calculator, checklists and birth plan builder, run entirely in your browser. Anything you enter, and the language you pick, is saved only in your browser's local storage so it's there next time. It is never sent to us. You can clear it with your browser's settings.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We don't receive or keep logs about you.
Download buttons take you to Apple's App Store, which has its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
- We don't show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't use data brokers.
- We don't use your health or pregnancy information for anything other than showing it to you.
Children's privacy
Amelia is meant for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. The information about your baby is entered by you and stays under your control as described above.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete single entries or documents, remove a baby, or use "Erase everything" in Amelia's Settings. Deleting the app removes the data on your iPhone. Data synced to iCloud is removed when you erase it in Amelia, or by managing Amelia's iCloud storage in the iOS Settings app. Anonymous usage stats are kept by PostHog for a limited time and can't be linked back to you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, and to object to how it's used. Because your logs are held on your device and in your own iCloud, you can do most of this directly in the app. For anything RevenueCat holds about your purchases, or PostHog about your app's usage, contact us and we'll help. In the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in Portugal that's the CNPD.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
